After more than 25 years of travelling in Chile and not having seen a single puma, we decided to join a puma-tracking expedition in the Torres del Paine National Park and the adjacent Estancia Goic in the Chilean Patagonia known to host the largest population of pumas in South America.

The only way to explore the channels, fjords and islands of western Patagonia is by sea. This (southern) autumn we sailed in 25 days 1629 nautical miles (3017 km) from Ushuaia in Argentina to Puerto Montt in Chile with the S/Y Anne-Margaretha.

Eventually I was able to prepare and publish the picture gallery from our circumnavigation of Spitsbergen with the Schooner bark Antigua in July 2013. We spent three exciting but also relaxing weeks sailing along the coastlines of Spitsbergen, exploring the islands and shores through extended hikes, and watch the fauna and flora of the arctic.
